Bochum Cricket Club is located in the heart of Ruhr Area providing ample facilities including a cricket pitch of their own. The club is playing different formats of cricket, like the T20, ODI and the first ever two days test match. And the Host of big Tennis Ball tournament on every year at 1 May. ==History== As the only source of media to understand cricket (theoretically) was the television by carefully listening to the commentary, it turned out to be quite facetious when Waqar Ali for the first time, at the age of 21, held the bat in his hands and although wearing leg guards, still tried to protect his legs not to be hit by the ball. The whole scene started in 1999 when Naeem Ali and Waqar Ali, also known as the Ali Brothers, went on to play for Crefeld CC. After playing one season it abruptly became clear to them what their ultimate aim was going to be, namely forming a club in their own hometown. The gigantic challenge in that period was to converge some bunch of enthusiasts on one platform. Naeem commenced with the official work and Waqar Ali started giving the team a structure. After officially forming the team in 2001, Bochum CC consistently played the NRWCU league, reaching the semifinals consecutively. Performances were good, the spirits were high but yet again we were convinced of converting ourselves into bigger at what Bochum CC were at that time. Hence, Naeem Ali decided of giving the club an aesthetic face lift by constructing a cricket pitch for the Bochum CC in their hometown. Ideas can be well conceived and decisions can be trivially made but they all are in vain if they can’t be implemented. Obviously, it was never going to be facile for Bochum CC to accomplish this. But where there is hope, there is a way. There were two big tasks to carry into execution. The very first, obtaining a permission of constructing a pitch in Bochum, the second of financing this project. Our authorities in Bochum showered their generosity upon us and by having deep, vigorous trust in Naeem, granted Bochum CC a beautiful location for creating the pitch. Due to some circumstances, which are not worth mentioning, a delay seemed to be inevitable but not indefinite. In 2005 at last three team members Manish Gawri, Javed Iqbal, Raj Ahluwalia including the Ali Brothers joined their hands of making the pitch project a reality. The Bochum Cricket Ground is now located at a very pleasant location providing usable toilettes, washrooms, parking places and great ambient. This was one of the complicated tasks Bochum Cricket Club is proud to have accomplished and surely so can others. This achievement anyhow does not prevent them from still improving as a club.
